In unusual, elaborately decorated papier mache boards with leather spine that is split and with loss to head and tail leaving boards detached. Gutter Percha intact but fragile, sporadic minor foxing . All edges gilt. Gilded board edges. Gilded inner dentelles. Marbled endpapers. Inscription on half title. Some minor spotting. Beautiful volume, inside and out. The plates by Humphreys are illuminated by Gruner
